Summary:
The Data Science intern shadows all aspects and supports the Data Science Manager, who works within the Data Science Team as part of the larger Development Strategy Group. The team is responsible for optimizing project design, producing databases, and conducting large-scale cloud-based analyses.
 
Requirements:
  • Assists with the development of Python-based energy models.
  • Assists with the development of electricity market pricing databases.
  • Assists with the development of Machine Learning model development.
  • Assists and interfaces with development, project finance, and engineering to provide information about wind, solar, hydrogen, and energy storage facilities.
  • Participates in project meetings and reports on progress/issues with assigned work.
  • Solves problems with minimal input.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field in junior or senior level standing required.
  • 1+ years of experience working on collaborative software products is required.
  • Approaches work with a creative, curious, self-motivated approach.
  • Knowledge of solar and wind and the technical modeling surrounding them.
  • Knowledge of grid dynamics, driving commercial factors, and a view of the future of the grid.
  • SQL, Python, HTML, and JavaScript preferred.
  • Creativity in a field that is new and rapidly evolving.
  • Experience with solving problems through programming.
Anticipated Base Salary Range: $25.00/hour
 
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
